Diary of the Siege of Fort Morgan, 1864.

This diary contains descriptions of daily events within Fort Morgan, near Mobile, Ala. The entries begin August 5 and end August 18, 1864. Much of the writings center around the Battle of Mobile Bay and the subsequent bombardment of Fort Morgan. He frequently mentions the commanding officer of the fort, Brigadier General Richard Lucian Page. Also mentioned are the commander of Fort Gaines, Colonel Charles Anderson and his deputy commander, Major Charles Johnson. Two units are mentioned in regards to casualties during the bombardment. These were the 7th Alabama Infantry Regiment and the 1st Tennessee Infantry Regiment.
